Kyle Matthews is the Minister of Worship Arts at First Baptist Church, Greenville, SC and the owner of See For Yourself Music, a small company that publishes his music and manages his concerts and speaking engagements. Kyle spent two decades working as a recording artist and staff songwriter for BMG and Universal Publishing companies in Nashville, TN, during which time his songs were recorded by over 70 major artists of disparate genres and won the Dove, Stellar, GMA and numerous ASCAP and BMI awards. He has penned such well known songs as “If You Want Me To,” recorded by Ginny Owens, “Everything and Nothing,” recorded by Vince Gill, “One and the Same,” recorded by Cece Winans, and “God Forbid,” recorded by Point of Grace, and “Been Thru the Water,” recorded by Kyle.
In the fall of 2008, in response to sense of calling to a more interpersonal ministry, Kyle transitioned to local pastoral ministry. Kyle is married to Susan and their children are Emily and Christopher. In April of 2006, his Alma Mater, Furman University, awarded him the Richard Furman Baptist Heritage Award recognizing “a graduate who reflects Baptist ideals by thinking critically, living compassionately and making life changing commitments.“
