Rev. Dr. Lee Canipe serves as Senior Pastor at Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. Before coming to Providence in 2016, he served for 12 years in Murfreesboro, NC as the Pastor of Murfreesboro Baptist Church. He grew up in Greensboro, NC and has also served churches in Durham, NC and Savannah, GA. Lee was educated at Davidson College (B.A.), University of Virginia (M.A.), Wake Forest University (M.A.Ed.), Duke University (M.Div.), and Baylor University (Ph.D).Lee and his wife, Hilary, are the parents of a daughter, Helen, and two sons, Watt and Peter.
