Visiting Clergy
Rev. John Hershman is the retired Senior Pastor of West End Assembly of God Church in Richmond, Virginia, where he served for 46 years. He and his wife, Helena, have been married for 56 years, and have three children and seven grandchildren. His pastoral training took place at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (MDiv, 1976) and Princeton Theological Seminary (ThM, 1977). While teaching, preaching and counseling have been important strengths of his ministry, his most salient gift continues to be his love of people, both at home and abroad. In 1979 he launched a mission and outreach program at West End Assembly involving parishioners in hands-on short-term projects around the world. To date, more than 5,000 people have participated in construction, medical and teacher training projects on five continents, in 28 countries.
