THE REV. DR. ROGER LOVETTE is Minister Emeritus of First Baptist Church of Clemson, South Carolina, where he served as Senior Minister from 1975 – 1988. He has since served as Senior Minister of Second Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee and as Pastor of Baptist Church of the Covenant in Birmingham, Alabama, in addition to several interim appointments since 2001. Prior to his stint at First Baptist in Clemson, Roger served churches in Philpot and Georgetown, Kentucky, and in Blairs, Virginia.
He earned an A.B. Degree from Samford University, a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Lexington Theological Seminary. Roger is currently featured as a guest columnist for the Greenville News and is the author of five books.
