The Rev. Dr. Robert C. Wilkes, Jr.
honorably retired as Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach, SC on December 31, 2011, following 28 years of service. He had previously served Denmark (SC) Presbyterian Church for 3 years and then Georgetown (SC) Presbyterian Church for 10 years. Bobby was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Presbyterian College in 1995. A native of Orangeburg, SC, he graduated from Erskine College in Due West, SC in 1966, where he was awarded a basketball scholarship, and Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA in 1970. His community involvements include Habitat for Humanity and the Grand Strand Hospital Board of Directors.
