Visiting Clergy
Rev. Dr. Al Cadenhead served as Senior Pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, from 1998 until this spring when he was named Pastor Emeritus. His previous pastorates include First Baptist Church, Vienna, GA; The Hill Baptist Church, Augusta, GA; and First Baptist Church, High Point, NC. During the 1970’s, he served in a chaplain’s role, first in a medical setting and for seven years as an Industrial Chaplain for a textile corporation. Dr. Cadenhead is a graduate of Furman University with a BA in Religion and Psychology, and a Masters and Doctorate from Southern Theological Seminary. He has authored five books and over a thousand published articles for newspapers during the past 30 years. He has done graduate work in the field of counseling and is accredited as a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and board certified through the American Psychotherapy Association.
