Visiting Clergy
Dr. Oliver “Butch” C. Skerrett was born and reared in Cedar Mountain, NC and was called into the ministry in 1971. He was ordained at Rocky Hill Baptist Church on 12/1/1974. Butch received his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1983 and his Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern in 2008. For the past 50 years Butch has pastored eight Baptist churches in NC and VA. Currently Butch is enjoying life filling in as a pastor and spending time with his new bride of two years, Louise “Winky” Pierson Skerrett, and their six children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
